How it works
- A person reads your request. Not a bidding auction and not a list sold to ten companies.
- You choose how you are contacted. Names by email first (you pick), email only, or a phone call. Nobody calls you unless you choose calls.
- It goes to no more contractors than you pick — one, two or three — each holding an active CCB license with a current bond and liability insurance in the state record, and working in your area.
- You get an email naming each contractor, so you can check each license yourself before anyone contacts you or visits.
- They quote the way you asked. You owe nobody anything. Compare the quotes on total installed price, with model numbers attached.
Before the quotes arrive
- What a furnace, heat pump or AC costs in the Portland metro in 2026 — so a number does not surprise you.
- Which rebates really apply to your house — the federal 25C credit ended for 2026 installs.
- Oregon does not require a heat pump when you replace an existing furnace or AC.
Straight answers
Does this cost anything?
No. The request is free, and you are under no obligation to hire anyone.
Is my information sold to lead brokers?
No. It goes only to the contractors named in the email you receive, for this project. It is not passed to lead brokers, advertisers or mailing lists. The privacy page has the detail.
Do contractors pay to receive requests?
As of 29 September 2026, no contractor pays for these introductions, and none can pay to appear in the license lookup or the guides. If that ever changes, it will be stated on this page and on the About page before another request is sent.
Where does this work?
Oregon, with the Portland metro — Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties — first. Outside the metro there may be fewer than three licensed contractors to send a request to; the email you receive will say so.
Is this site a contractor?
No. It installs nothing, bids on nothing and holds no CCB license, because it performs no construction work. The contractors who quote are licensed; this site is not.
